My Blog
James W. Wade III
Well, I am back with my blog, sometimes you just have to take a break and sit back and reflect on life. Even tho I was raised as my mother's only child, she never taught me to be selfish or jealous of nobody. Some of the things I read on Facebook make you sit back and shake your head.
I have been struggling with my health for some years now and had to stop working...I have not sat on the sidelines waiting to die. I enjoy each day that I can with every breath I take. The reason why I titled this blog "I Am Who I Am" is because I can't be nobody but myself always.
I watch great people making strides every day like a raising star named Shawn Literacy making her mark with her efforts to make sure kids have books to read, or Rhonda Crowder who is turning Cleveland upside down with everything she is accomplishing, but I can't be like them, or Dr. Yvonne Pointer with her Hope Haven every night at 8:00 pm, but I can't be Yvonne either. Even my girl Danita Harris with SHINE or being a news anchor on TV. So saying all that all I have left to just be me.
Sometimes people sit back and say I want to be like these people in the limelight, and no matter how hard you try, you can't. Sometimes there's a price to pay, and you don't know what they went through to arrive at this moment in life.
I respect people for wanting to achieve something in life or to be remembered for doing good, but always remember what God has for you is for you and no one can be you. In life is it really important to be someone special or be someone people admire and like for being yourself? I have always judged my friends for what's in their hearts not what's in their bank account or how many cars they have.
My mother raised me and always preached whatever you have God can take it, he gave it to you and can take it from you. I learned that lesson real young too. I had a 74 White Chevy Impala with spoke rims, gangster white walls, and a sound system out of this world. I kept the car clean and would wax it every day, and my mother would tell me, you worship that car too much. Naturally being young I didn't want to hear it. But on my way to work one day another car ran the light and hit me head-on and totaled the car, but God allowed me to walk away with no harm or a single scratch.
Since that incident, I have always understood what she was trying to teach me, so no matter how many degrees you have or how smart you think you are, there always someone smarter and has more than you.
Always stay true to you, if God bless you with wealth would you forget about your friends? Would you only hang around people with money and not talk to your poor friends? or less fortunate friends should I say.
Many want to have so many irons in the fire, I remember the old saying a jack of all trades and master of none. So be careful what image you project, many may be laughing at you, not with you.
